The widely popular British bands Oasis and Take That were not allowed to hold their concerts and gigs in their native Manchester Stadium. The turning down of the two groups by the Arab owners of the Manchester Stadium came as a big blow to the groups and its fans. At this time, the stadium doesn’t need extra money. The groups were supposed to start their gigs and tours this coming June 2009, alternating in the same venue, usually just a few days apart from each other. It is just recently that the stadium was taken over by the United Arab Emirates’ Abu Dhabi United Group Investment and Development Limited. With the rejection by the new owners, Oasis was forced to hold their gigs in Manchester’s Heaton Park.
