Vertical Horizon
Posted in gigs on April 30th, 2008 by: editorAlternative rock band Vertical Horizon hails from Washington DC. They are famous for their late 90’s popular hits such as “You’re a God” and “Everything You Want”.
Formed in 1990 by Matthew Scannell and Keith Kane, then undergraduates of Georgetown University, the duo relocated to Boston and released their self-released debut album There and Back Again. Both played the acoustic guitar and contributed to all the instruments that appeared in the album. They also shared the effort in writing the songs and the vocals.
An astounding feat is that they recorded their first album in Matthew’s old high school over the time span of a few days. After that, they went on tour for several years before being joined by Ed Toth and Ryan Fisher, on drums and bass respectively.
